Fresh Fish, Mevagissey

David  is a self-taught artist living in Compton, near Guildford. After a career in the electronics  industry he retired early to pursue his  interest in marine watercolours.                                                                                    

He exhibits marine and landscape paintings in oil and watercolour at Guildford and Molesey Art Societies, being President of the latter,and also in various galleries in England and overseas.                   

A Friend of the RSMA, he has exhibited in the  Annual  Exhibition and teaches and demonstrates traditional watercolour techniques to art groups .

David is primarily interested in capturing the atmospheric beauty of landscapes and seascapes, and having a lifelong involvement first with the Royal Navy and then with various sailing activities, he enjoys the sculptural  aspects of boats and particularly the old working vessels around our coastline. The dramatic coasts and mountains of New Zealand have been frequent subjects as well as Venice and the old cities of Spain.
