Endeavour at Leigh

A self-taught artist, who upon retirement from the London Fire Service, resumed an earlier interest in painting landscapes and portraits in oil, watercolour and pastel.

Although a lifelong ‘landlubber’, John is now drawn to marine subjects, particularly working boats. Painting with the Maritime Art Group gives him the opportunity to experience the joy, and sometimes the frustration, of working plein air, capturing the light and atmosphere of coastal scenes.

John is currently President of Chislehurst Artists and is a regular exhibitor at local exhibitions.
