The Maritime Art Group was formed in 2005 by a group of Friends of the Royal Society of Marine Artists, who enjoy painting and exhibiting their work together. The group is now 12 strong and includes several established professionals, some engaged in tutoring, demonstrating and writing, as well as painting. Several have exhibited with the RSMA and the RI, as well as featuring in local art galleries in London and the south east of England. The group’s work is essentially plein air (and in all weather!) and there is a full programme of painting on location each year. |

Favourite haunts are the Thames as well as the creeks and harbours of the east and south coasts. Members take an active role in organising these trips, arranging exhibitions and in the general running of the group. |
