Maritime Art Group Home : Artists : Exhibitions : History

Since its formation in 2005 the Group has held annual exhibitions in galleries, clubs and hotels. Specifically these have included The RAC Club, Woodcote Country Club, Gallery 54 (Mayfair), Cranleigh Arts Centre, galleries in Chichester and Arundel, and the Master Builders House Hotel in Bucklers Hard. Members have also exhibited individually or in groups at the RA, The Mall Galleries (RSMA, RI, New English Art Club )  and other galleries in London and the South East, East Anglia and the Midlands. The Committee has established a policy of planning several years ahead and also supports established national charities.

Exhibitions planned for next year include Cranleigh Arts Centre  in March. The Royal Meteorolgical Society in June, Bucklers Hard  in August (supporting the RNLI) and Framlingham College  in October (supporting Help for Heroes).

Following a successful exhibition in August 2010 at the Master Builders House Hotel we returned there in 2011.  This time we invited the RNLI to participate and the publicity given to this new initiative proved most encouraging.

The RNLI benefited greatly and the throughput of visitors boosted sales and customers dining and staying at the hotel. The exhibition was opened by Steve Curtis, International Power Boat Champion, and this had the effect of boosting the number of visitors to the exhibition.
